Nurturing Whole Health
.Hello Dear Community,
I am incredibly grateful for the gift of clear, clean air for these past two days. I have spent hours in nature since yesterday, connecting to the natural world with all of my senses. My olfactory function is quickly returning. It is such a gift to notice and differentiate scents of nature after weeks of smelling smoke and the inside of a sweaty mask. I hope those of you experiencing the summer fire season are finding ways for self-care; getting away at times if possible and getting outfitted with good masks and air purifiers of some kind. We all understand how challenging the fires have been. Unfortunately, I have had to cancel all of my Forest Bathing Walks since early July and have been unable to schedule any in August due to the unpredictability of the smoke. I am praying for early rains this year to fully snuff the last of the fires and allow us all back to the outdoors. The good news is that I have a great air purifier. The clean air has made my Reiki sessions a doubly blissful and relaxing escape from the stress of the smoke.
I am very happy and grateful to announce that in July, I completed my 6-month practicum through The Association of Nature and Forest Therapy and am now Certified as a Nature and Forest Therapy Guide. This certification feels like an essential coming together of the circle of my healing and teaching work that I have been building and refining over the past many years. I am so excited to bring Nature and Forest Therapy into my practice as a Whole Health Educator™ and add it to my facilitation of Mind-Body Stress Regulation as well as my Reiki Energy Healing and teaching.
I have changed my practice name to "Wild Wellness Guide" from Forest Bathing Ashland. My practice has been a work in progress and since early June, "Wild Wellness Guide" has been has been strongly speaking to me. I feel it aptly describes me and my practice as I guide others on their path to wellness through facilitation, education and healing. The "Wild" world of nature is where I am deeply connected and a central core of my wellness work.
My work as a Whole Health Educator focuses on whole person wellness and disease prevention. It integrates evidence-based practices for physical, emotional, nutritional, environmental and spiritual wellness. In my practice, through my own experience and those of my clients, I have discovered as science now demonstrates, that the stress of modern life leads to much of the disease in our society. Research is showing that stress is increased from sedentary time spent indoors; screen time and being cut-off from our roots in the natural world.
At the core of my work is calming the sympathetic nervous system to regulate stress. I am so excited to be able to offer Forest Therapy, Mind-Body Stress Regulation and Reiki Healing to help my clients develop a personal practice to manage stress levels for optimum wellness.
Nature and Forest Therapy, (also called Shinrin Yoku/Forest Bathing), is a facilitated, mindful sensory immersion in nature, for slowing down, deeply letting go of stress, unplugging and connecting to the natural world, oneself and to others in a new way. Once practiced with facilitation, it can be easily integrated into one's life as a regular practice. Forest Therapy is offered for public groups, private groups and for individuals and couples.
Mind-Body Stress Regulation includes Guided Sensory-Nature Imagery, Breathwork, Gratitude Practice, Mind-Body Techniques and Nature Immersion. It includes "Body Hacks" (practices) to help support the Vagus Nerve, one of the cranial nerves which connects the brainstem to the body, linking the neck, heart, lungs, and the abdomen to the brain. A balanced Vagus Nerve supports a healthy parasympathetic nervous system. I offer this work in individual sessions as well as sessions combined with Reiki.
Reiki Energy Healing is a very calming form of energy work which deeply relaxes the sympathetic nervous system. It helps support stress levels, mood, pain, sleep and anxiety. When the sympathetic nervous system calms down, the physical, emotional and energy body is able to relax and come back into balance. Besides individual healing sessions, I offer classes for Usui Reiki, Levels 1,2 & 3 and a half-day class called, "Reiki for Self-Care."
I look forward to seeing you in the forest either in Ashland or in beautiful Boise Idaho where I am relocating. I am selling my home and leaving my long-time home in Oregon for new adventures. Call me or contact me through my website to schedule Forest Therapy Walks, Stress Regulation Facilitation and Reiki sessions.
Be Well, Sari
New Class Offerings: First and Second Degree, One-Day, Reiki Certification Classes and Reiki for Selfcare
I am doing it- after hearing from several of you who want Reiki Certification training, but don't have the time for my 2-day workshops, I am now offering First and Second Degree Reiki Classes as a one-day immersion for 1-2 students. As well, I am offering, "Reiki for Self-Healing". This half-day class is for those whose goal is to become attuned to Reiki for their own self-healing. Not everyone is looking to work on others as a practitioner. This class is a gentle introduction to Reiki healing energy. You will learn about Reiki energy; become attuned to Reiki and learn hand positions to practice daily self-healing. Self-Reiki is a powerful tool for blissful relaxation, stress-reduction and sleep support. Used as a daily practice, Reiki is balancing, meditative and supports well-being on many levels. This half-day class is offered for 1-2 students.
Yesterday, I taught a Second Degree Class, with two awesome students/healers. We focused on the mental/emotional aspects of Reiki; worked on eachother, as well as learning Reiki Distance Healing. Second Degree Reiki training goes into more depth and specifics as to the chakras, the body organs, and their emotional counterparts. Further practice is offered with scanning, how to apply the symbols for personal healing, Distance Healing, and for manifesting, and even for creating your future. This knowledge enables the practitioner to address a vast array of conditions- physical, emotional, and mental for one’s self care, and for others.

The holidays are upon us and the cold weather has arrived. Many of us are over-stressed and weary. We have just come through the most intense election season some have ever experienced. Holiday gatherings are scheduled and December can be a wonderful time of friends, family and warm connecting. It also may come with excess in terms of energy output; over indulgence with food and drink and often, a decrease in immune function. High stress levels are shown to contribute to daily and long-term health issues. Now is the perfect time to nourish and treat yourself with kindness, which in turn reduces stress and calms the sympathetic nervous system.
Reiki offers a bliss-filled way to melt your stress away and clear blocked energy which can result in illness. It supports deep relaxation, reduces anxiety, supports the immune system, restful sleep, increased vitality, pain relief; regulates blood pressure and helps to balance body, mind and spirit.
For the month of December, I am offering single, One-Hour Reiki sessions, for $55 (normally $65). As well, "Reiki Bliss-3" and "Reiki Bliss-6" Series, session bundled packages are available on an ongoing basis.
Gift certificates for the holidays are now available. Reiki, offers blissful, deep, healing relaxation and is a lovely offering to friends and family. Call me for details.
Happy Holidays and Many Blessings to All,
I spent the past two days with a beautiful group of women who participated in my First Degree, Holy Fire Reiki Class. What a gift and honor it was, to connect with and teach this wonderful bunch who were drawn to Reiki; showing up with a deep longing to heal, learn and receive the First Degree attunement. "Attunement" is the miraculous process that tuned each student to the "Reiki Energy Channel"- just like tuning a radio to the right frequency. You dial it in just right and Reiki flows.
Students arrived on day one with some sense of Reiki and much curiosity. The day was filled with ritual, meditation, guided imagery, journaling, sharing and teachings about energy; the human energy field and the history of Reiki. By mid-afternoon, everyone was fully attuned; practicing with partners and initially awestruck by the heat, sparks and the powerful energy flowing from their remarkable healing hands. By the end of day two, students were practicing the Usui method of "Byosem"- scanning for disturbed fields; balancing chakras and giving and receiving deeply therapeutic Reiki sessions, as if they had been doing so for years.
So much gratitude to you, my dear students and to my beloved Reiki Masters.
Many Blessings, Sari
Flicker, Council Bluffs, Iowa
I recently returned to the small Iowa town where I was born and raised. Since my parents relocated to Oregon over 13 years ago, it was my first trip back there in 14 years. I was drawn to see old friends at my 40 year high school reunion, as well as to say my goodbyes to my home of origin.
Since Reiki came into my life, I've enjoyed the incredible benefits it gives during the stresses of travel. The first thing I noticed on this journey, was the calm and deep relaxation that came during each leg of my travel. Before the plane took off, my hands were falling into position as I gave Self-Reiki in as many places on my body as I could reach, while sitting in a cramped coach seat. I suspected that the Reiki energy was flowing to my seat neighbors as we were squished so tightly together.
No longer do I feel the anxiety and stress of being cramped and stuck in extremely confining space. That feeling has instead been replaced by what is called a "Reiki Sleep". In this state, one is not actually asleep, but in a profound state of relaxation, physically and mentally. Absent is any projection regarding arrival times or concerns of calamities in the air or on the ground. I have learned though, to be careful when doing Self-Reiki while waiting for a plane. I become so deeply relaxed that I have almost missed several boarding announcements.
The trip from Oregon to Iowa was seven hours and due to delays, my flight arrived an hour later than scheduled. Reiki allows me to be in the present moment and to accept whatever is happening in the moment, even the not so pleasant- such as the rental car company informing me that the compact car I reserved was not available and the only choices were- A. An S.U.V. the size of a semi-truck, B. A bright orange, souped-up Pontiac Trans-Am, C. A Chevy Camero with no visibility out the back or sides. Fortunately, after 7 hours of Self-Reiki, I managed to not scream and pull my hair out at 1:00 A.M. and reluctantly opted for the Camero. After managing to drive the Camero from Omaha, across the Missouri River to Council Bluffs, I was well overdue for sleep. The next morning I traded in the Camero for a sweet little Hyundai hatchback that miraculously became available.
Reiki is a great gift to have when traveling and your host suddenly suffers a severely painful muscle spasm. I was able to help out my old friend who had never before heard of or experienced Reiki. The first comment he made about the Reiki was how deeply relaxed he suddenly became. Reiki allows for such deep relaxation that healing energy can easily move through the area in pain and quickly calm it down.
Two days later, while at my friends home, set in a lovely, heavily wooded area, a small Flicker smashed into the living room picture window. The little sweetie was down and stunned with one wing spread out to the side. I observed the Flicker for a bit and it wasn't moving. I went out to the deck and gently cupping my palms around the little bird, but not directly touching it, I gave Reiki first-aid. While giving the bird Reiki, my hands became very hot and I felt the typical Reiki tingling and electricity I feel when a particular body area is pulling Reiki in. I settled into the feeling of the deep warmth and calm which comes through me as the Reiki flows. As I held the little bird in the Reiki energy, it suddenly looked up at me with a renewed sparkle in its eyes and communicated, "Thank you". I pulled my hands away and felt the sweet brush of wings against my fingers as the little Flicker lifted straight up into the air and set an Eastern course into the thickly wooded scarlet oaks.
Reiki is a way of life- everyday in every place. I am so grateful.

The below testimonial is from a client I have been working with over a course of several treatments of Distant Reiki.
Although I understand the value of alternative therapies, and I have used them on occasion, I've always been skeptical. I am not certain how much is actual benefit and how much is placebo.
When I decided to try Reiki, out of desperation I might add, I honestly had no idea what to expect. I pretty much expected nothing. No effect whatsoever. I didn't even have Reiki in person. I arranged for two sessions of distance Reiki.
Eight months ago I suffered a severe Lisfranc injury to my right foot. At the time of the injury my medical doctor did not recommend any treatment, and despite the pain, I didn't understand just how severe these injuries are.
Over the past eight months I've experienced increasing pain which limits my activities and causes me much distress- both physically and emotionally as I cannot participate in the sports and outdoor activities I most enjoy. I recently learned that because the injury was not treated appropriately last year, it is becoming progressively worse and I'm developing arthritis in my foot.
I was given two options- surgery followed by three to six months of non-weight-bearing plus a full year's recovery, or a non-weight-bearing cast for two to three months with no guarantee of any improvement. In other words, I might wear the cast for three months, have it removed, step on the foot and be no better off than I was when the cast was applied.
I don't want surgery. The surgery is difficult and complications are not unusual. Right now a cast is not a good option as I'll be out of the country for a couple weeks. Out of desperation I decided to try Reiki.
As I said, I didn't know what to expect, especially with distance Reiki. I contacted Sari Telpner and we set up an appointment time. To be honest, during the thirty minute session I really wasn't paying much attention to my foot because I didn't expect to feel a thing. I assumed Reiki was hokum. It's that simple.
So what did I feel? And this was very unexpected- extremely relaxed, hungry, aroused senses, high and sleepy. I definitely felt something. Most important, my foot felt better. The pain did not entirely go away, but it felt better. When I went hiking the next day I was not in agony. And it continued to improve the following day.
I requested a second session. I have to be honest, again I barely paid attention to my foot. And yet I experienced a significant event during the Distant session. Suffice it to say, the day after the second treatment, my foot improved to the point where I forgot about it. I'd been living with severe pain (7-8 on a scale of 1-10) for months and I ran errands, went to the store, took a hike, and never thought about my foot because it didn't hurt!
Is the pain gone altogether? No. I still have some pain, but overall the pain is diminishing- overall the trend is positive. Despite my healthy skepticism I am improving. I was so impressed with Sari, I scheduled two more treatments and I'm now beginning foot massage - the pain was so severe before the Reiki treatments, I was terrified to have anyone manipulate my foot. I couldn't even bear to have a sheet or blanket touch my foot at night. Now I can have a gentle foot massage and it is not painful.
I'm still a skeptic. But I plan to continue Reiki with Sari Telpner. My experience has been quite remarkable. Heidi Barr, R.N.

Experiencing chronic pain on a daily basis, can trigger a powerful fear reaction. As the expectation of pain settles in as a presence in one's consciousness, fear can become a daily, silent, unwelcome companion.
"Bodymind" science of the brain and brain hormone activity, explain the close connection between thought, physical symptoms and immune dysfunction. According to evidence-based research, by Dr. Candace Pert, PhD., every thought sends out neuropeptides (brain proteins) to receptor cites throughout the body. Dr. Pert explains, “A feeling sparked in our mind-or body-will translate as a peptide being released somewhere. [Organs, tissues, skin, muscle and endocrine glands], they all have peptide receptors on them and can access and store emotional information. This means the emotional memory is stored in many places in the body, not primarily in the brain. You can access emotional memory anywhere in the peptide/receptor network, in any number of ways. I think unexpressed emotions are literally lodged in the body. The real true emotions that need to be expressed are in the body, trying to move up and be expressed and thereby integrated, made whole, and healed". Dr. Pert's research demonstrated the body's information system has two major elements, neuropeptides (made of amino acids which grow from DNA and are made from hormones) and receptors which they fit into. The neuropeptides are produced by nerve cells in the brain. They lock into their receptor cites throughout the body and cause either something to take place or prevent a reaction. In her book, "The Molecules of Emotion", Candace Pert states, "the body is having a conversation which appears to be remarkably flexible, varied and subtle. For example, all the immune cells carry all the receptors identified so far, which means, presumably, that they can be affected by a wide range of messages." Dr. Pert concludes that "The mind and body are bound together in a conversation of neuropeptides, and can be considered an integrated entity called, "bodymind". We, our body, our mind, are in essence one unit, one fully integrated, wise operating system."
So, how does this relate to Reiki and pain? When one takes into consideration the bodymind connection, the missing puzzle pieces are discovered. Consider the pain of a chronic condition or pain resulting from an accident or injury. Every time we feel the pain, there is an associated fear with it which is paired with associated thoughts about the pain. Here are some sample thoughts: "This is so painful", "It keeps getting worse", "Will I be like this for the rest of my life?", "I can't go on like this", "No one has been able to help me". What if we took into consideration how every thought affects every other part of our body; our organs, immune system, joints, bones and muscles? According to the science of bodymind medicine, this is exactly what is happening- the mind is causing a bodily reaction. What if during the pain, one would recite, like a mantra, "I'm safe, I'm safe, I'm safe", over and over and over. It's an experiment worth trying.
In my Reiki practice, I work with several clients who have been dealing with long-term chronic pain issues which have seriously affected every part of their lives- everyday. They arrive with stories from their many physicians and therapists, such as, "This is chronic", "You'll just have to live with it", or "We can't find anything wrong and the pain may be in your head". The pain may have begun in the body through some sort of inflammatory condition or injury or in the mind as a result of stressful thinking. There is never only one factor. As the pain continues, fear and frightening thoughts about the pain feed the bodymind neuropeptide receptor loop. As well, there may likely be physical, nutritional, emotional, environmental and spiritual issues that need attention-all of which can affect the bodymind connection.
Reiki research demonstrates that Reiki energy puts the recipient into an incredibly deep state of relaxation. During a Reiki session, the recipient is able to sink deeply into a condition which allows the Reiki energy to move through the entire bodymind. The deep relaxation combines with the Reiki energy, moving through the entire body. The mind leaves overload mode and drops into a place of deep quiet. This deep mental quiet and letting go of stressful thoughts, combines with the deep physical experience of relaxation during a Reiki treatment. This allows The Reiki to pour through one, moving energy blocks along the way. What if some of these blocks are actually emotions stuck throughout the body which were originally created or exacerbated by our thoughts- all part of the neurotransmitter/ receptor system?
In a Reiki session, many fall into a profoundly blissful state. Some recipients may be in a deep state and when my hands get to a certain point, they are aroused, noticing a sense of intensity or heightened emotion- either good feelings or very complex feelings. I talk them through these areas and teach relaxation breathing when needed. It is in these places where the recipient is feeling energy blockages moving, and working their way out. And most often, the blocked energy moves while the recipient is deeply lost in their blissful "Reiki Sleep".
Many clients who have been struggling with chronic pain, low vitality and various health conditions, have returned after one or two sessions with incredible breakthroughs, much gratitude and glowing smiles on their faces. Helping others regain their functionality is a joy. I am so grateful for bodymind science, Usui Holy Fire Reiki, and the ability to share it with those in need.
"Do we get sick because we need to change or does the changing make us sick and work as our healer? Was the violent spinning a series of healing sessions, called, "vertigo", designed to crack me open and spin out every suppressed emotion and memory, taking me to my next level of frequency? "
When I walked out of the Ear, Nose and Throat Specialist's office in 2013, I fell into a deep hole. After diagnostic testing, the doctor told me my symptoms of hearing loss, tinnitus and vertigo were a condition called Meniere's Disease. He also said the following, "With Meniere's, you'll need to take diuretics, remove salt from your diet, and take a drug called, Meclizine. Commonly, people with Meniere's end up unable to work, become deaf and fall into depression, needing to go on antidepressants." Did I just hear a doctor, " Primum non nocere- First, do no harm", speak those words? I thought, "Be careful what you say, be careful what you think, be careful what you believe." The mind is all powerful. Having years of experience in the field of wellness, I asked him, "What about diet, food allergies, stress and other factors? The doctor replied, "There is likely no connection". At that moment I was more distraught about the doctor's mindless forecast of doom and total unawareness of all the aspects that contribute to health, than the Meniere's diagnosis. Sometimes a constellation of symptoms is simply a constellation of symptoms sending us a message. My inner guidance told me there was much more to this story; a much bigger picture in terms of my health. I was determined to analyze and solve the puzzle.
And so, I began my healing journey. I started working with a nutritionist, and had a session with an energy healer who I had met 30 years earlier. He told me I was an energy healer and my ear was fine. He said the symptoms were for my growth. Interestingly, he seemed to catalyze my healing process, causing the vertigo to immediately increase. There was no rhyme or reason to the attacks. I was food allergy tested, changed my diet, got rid of the salt and used herbal diuretics. Later I discovered that none of that was affecting the vertigo. In fact, my stressing over food only exacerbated the symptoms.
Over a period of months, I missed several days of work due to the attacks. Every day, I experienced a low level of dizziness and was incapable of attending events with people, or being around noise and bright light. Earplugs became my standard. Outside of work, I had become an aesthetic- sheltering myself in the quiet of my home and meditating. Taking the Meclizine only helped for the violent disabling attacks- where I was instantly down, crawling to the cold tile floor of the bathroom and waiting to spill my guts out. The room spun and I could barely hold my head on my neck. The first time I tried to call for help after crawling to my Smartphone, I burst into tears; sobbing as I realized all the numbers on the phone were spinning-making a call impossible. I soon learned to keep little piles of Meclizine in strategic areas in my home, car and knapsack. After about one hour of vertigo hell, it would calm down and the Meclizine knocked me into a deep stupor of a sleep for several hours. The following day, I was hung-over, dull-headed and barely able to move. Being extremely sensitive, I can barely even tolerate a multiple vitamin, and pharmaceutical drugs and anesthesia knock me flat out. I knew it was my job to find my healing and I became a medical detective.
It took many months, but by early 2015, the picture began to change- for the better. Do we get sick because we need to change or does the changing make us sick and work as our healer? Was the violent spinning a series of healing sessions, called, "vertigo", designed to crack me open and spin out every suppressed emotion and memory, taking me to my next level of frequency? With all my symptoms, I pushed my way through life, while the stress caused severe adrenal exhaustion from my sympathetic nervous system being in over-drive. During the worst of it, I was working as a wellness buyer and educator at a large natural foods co-op. I learned to use my breath and concentration skills to stay on my feet and focus in a job filled with constant customer interaction, multi-tasking, bright lights and noise. My calming techniques helped, to a point, but it wasn't enough to prevent major adrenal fatigue, burn-out and vertigo crash. One of my last memories before I left my job was of two of my loving, co-workers- one on either side of me, lifting and carrying me like a baby, off the cold, grimy warehouse floor. It was time to let go and stop being the fighter I had always been. I had no choice.
These "healing sessions", called vertigo, led me to a life I could never have before imagined. I was on a journey of deep healing of body, mind, soul and spirit, as well as re-creating myself in terms of my life's path. As I followed my inner guidance, and sought out various alternative treatments, I learned much about myself. I worked with a nutritionist, herbalist/shaman, homeopath, osteopath, chiropractors, an Internist, a Medical Vedic Astrologer, acupuncturists and several energy healers. For months I wore Irlen spectral filters- prescription colored lenses, to calm the vertigo and heal the connected light sensitivity. I saw the world through rose colored glasses and still do. I felt as if no one was helping me and many times I seemed to get worse. In actuality, every single one of those gifted healers was teaching me how to let myself be held, seen, and cared for. They each taught me that healing works on deep levels and in the end, I am my own healer.
Three different energy healers, over the course of two years told me, "You are a healer" and "your hands-they are your gift." After the third healer told me this, I decided it was time. I began studying Reiki energy healing and made a discovery after my Reiki Level 1 attunement; I had so much electrical energy flowing through me, it was unbelievable. What was even more mind-blowing was that all my life, I had felt that same energy flowing through me. After the Reiki attunement, which intensified the energy, I understood that the electrical, tingly feelings in my legs, feet and hands, I'd experienced since I was a child, were my gift. I had assumed that everyone felt this kind of energy flowing. It's like the realization when one discovers they have synesthesia, and have always seen letters and numbers in color- until they learned it had a name, they assumed everyone else was having the same visual experience.
From my first Reiki attunement, I never missed a single day of giving myself Reiki. With each of my successive Reiki attunements, the vertigo intensified for a time and then calmed down again. I understood that some of the symptoms were manifesting, to help me release old emotions and energy which was stuck and needed to clear out, as I stepped further into my path as a healer and teacher. I soon discovered that if I put my hands on certain Reiki points on my body, I could calm and release the vertigo. Initially, with violent vertigo, it would take about an hour to stop; the same amount of time as the Meclizine- though with no side-effects. At one point, I experienced a paralyzing low back spasm like nothing I had ever had. The pain was excruciating and I felt sliced in two while frozen on the floor near my bed. With no one there to help, I placed my hands on my belly and channeled my breath, directing short, powerful bursts to the painful area in my spine. The pain immediately moved out and I was mobile and pain-free once again-with an experiential understanding that energy can be managed, moved and transformed.
Following my training and attunement as an Usui Holy Fire Reiki Master, something shifted in a deep way. I felt a deep inner sense of warmth and love-everyday. For the first time, I felt whole, at peace with life and myself. "I am what I am." My intuition sharpened as never before and I understood and listened to each and every message coming through. In late winter of 2015, I listened in and heard this- "Your neck, your neck, your neck- it's your neck." A month earlier, my astrologer told me to get my neck checked out and I shelved it in the back of my mind. So, I got online for the millionth time to do a search on Meniere's and vertigo causes. Even though I had been thinking, "neck", I'd been wanting to read up on Meniere's and an anti-oxidant called Pycnogenol. Being a health educator and trained supplement geek, I often thought supplements were the key. There is so much more to healing than that. My plan was to next look up Meniere's and the neck connection. But, the article that came to the top of the list with the Pycnogenol search was about a modality called, N.U.C.C.A. N.U.C.C.A is The National Upper Cervical Chiropractic Association. The article had nothing to do with Pycnogenol, but reading about necks was "neckst" on my list. I saved the link and immediately did a search for N.U.C.C.A. specialists in Southern Oregon and found Jordan Weeda and Tim March at Wellspring Body Balance. I immediately made an appointment. When I checked my e-mail two minutes later, sitting in my inbox was an e-mail from my mother. She had forwarded me a link from a friend, suggesting that I look into N.U.C.C.A. treatment. It was synchronicity at its finest.
My N.U.C.C.A doctor, Tim March, discovered through digital x-rays that my C-1 (Atlas) , first cervical vertebra, was so subluxated that my head was not correctly sitting on my neck. He told me this was causing damage to my nervous system due to my cranial nerves being compressed by my misaligned neck vertebra. Some of the neck issues may have come from a whiplash I received in 2012. Once I began treatment, the scoliosis I was diagnosed with as a teenage, mostly disappeared. My hips and shoulders straightened out as did my neck. I have gained almost an inch in height. Over a period of months, the daily vertigo lessened, but I still had some vertigo attacks during the treatment period. Most often, the vertigo came when I was near wireless networks, computers, cell phones, fluorescent lights or under stress. Dr. March told me it is common to get some symptom exacerbation during treatment. Light sensitivity soon decreased to the point where I was able to wear lighter colored Irlen lenses and some days needed none. I soon discovered Mind-Body techniques to get the vertigo to stop within minutes. My N.U.C.C.A. doctor also used a method called, Koren Specific Technique-KST. Through KST, we discovered there was a large amount of energy stuck in my head, triggering some of the symptoms. In the universe, everything is energy and different elements vibrate at different rates. During this acute treatment period, I found profound healing from the heavy, dense energy of rocks; dark rocks, like obsidian, onyx, black tourmaline and also quartz crystals. The little mountain of Meclazine on my night stand was soon replaced by crystals, rocks and stones. I still regularly carry smokey quartz in my pocket. Many of the vertigo attacks came on at night while sleeping- startling me awake to violent spinning. Where I previously used only Reiki on certain points, I began to use a combination of Reiki and stones. A big, flat quartz with several points and what looks like some hematite mixed in, became my miracle stone. When placed flat onto my third chakra/solar plexus, just below my ribs, with one hand on my heart center and one on my second chakra, the energy in the head was swiftly pulled down by the magnetism of the stone. At the same time, the Reiki moved the energy down and out. I was swiftly back to peaceful dreaming, with a lovely feeling of warm safety. The ability to control the energy so quickly, replaced the vertigo-triggered fear with a sense of well being and safety.
During this healing process, I learned to balance my energy, slow down, let go, rest my adrenals and step back. This healing period for me was a serious, miraculous lesson in learning to work with energy and allow it to flow through me.
My most effective teachers and healers now are Medical Qigong, the flowers, plants, trees, stones, water, fire, breath, Mindfulness, human touch, deep heart connection, my beloved Reiki guides and gratitude. When I tune into Mind-Body awareness; practice Reiki and step into, "I am who I am", nothing more, nothing less, I enter a blissful dance of hands, heart, body, mind and Reiki flow.
Many blessings that you may step back; feel; listen; and find your path of deep healing and wholeness.
